Naval was biologically related to Tata as his biological maternal grandmother was the sister of Hirabai Tata, wife of Jamshedji Tata & his biological grandfather Hormusji Tata belonged to a broader Tata family

Ratan Tata was raised by his grandmother

At the age of 10, Ratan Tata was separated from his parents, father Naval Tata & mother sonoo. He was then raised by his grandmother Navajbai Tata widow of Sir Ratanji Tata.
